253432 2004-07-19 03:35:00 I purchased a game called Gizmos and Gadgets from dicks smith, and i KNEW it would work only on a win95 computer, but also i knew that i can change compatibility in winxp...

so i did that, and installed it its perfect,

but went to start the game and it says

" the midi driver for your sound card cannot be found, make sure drivers etc are installed before restarting gizmos and gadgets"

but when i use other applications the sound is brilliant as i ask my neighbour to listen, as i'm deaf.

I have played gizmos before when i was younger and i was still deaf then so i know SOUND is not required for me to actually play the game..

So how do i bypass this error and continue playing the game without sound, as the only option it gives me with the error is "exit"

am using winxp home :)

253433 2004-07-19 04:17:00 Is there an option in the game for the setup of the sound card?
It might even be a seperate program you have to run.
Then tell it you don't have a midi device.

253438 2004-07-19 04:50:00 Oh! :D

What about when you installed it? Did it ask about your sound card at all?
CYaBro (73)
253439 2004-07-19 04:57:00 nope, it only asked where i want to install it and the folder name if i wished to change it for the start menu...

and the registration too...

253440 2004-07-19 05:09:00 Ok, something else to check then. Does you PC have an on-board sound card? If so there may be an option in the BIOS to enable the midi port on it. CYaBro (73)
253441 2004-07-19 05:10:00 its a laptop and how do i access the bios for the sound to check :) csinclair83 (200)
