2004-07-22 07:41:00 | Most times connecting to Paradise mail is prompt, but in the past week I am finding that using OE quite often everything sits on "Finding host" for 10-15 seconds before carrying on. Sometimes zips straight through, but has anyone else noticed this ? Cheers Tony

2004-07-22 10:57:00 | Logging onto the Paradise mail server I've found can be very slow at times, both when I was on dialup, and now on ADSL. As you say it can be variable, maybe capacity is limited. | Terry Porritt (14) | |

2004-07-22 11:41:00 | The connection would be quicker when sending because its 2 completely different servers.. 1 is for sending your emails 1 is for receiving your emails.. so why dont you try receiving your emails at different times of the day if you can do that... like 8am 10am Midday 2pm 4pm 6pm 9pm and midnight if your still awake.. and then see what times your emails downloads are faster and if theres NO change at any time, then notify paradise, because surely there will be many hours that speeds for downloading emails are alot faster than other times... I also state that downloading emails between 7pm and 11pm will be slower compared to other times because thats when many ppl are home and online...

2004-07-22 23:32:00 | Try to see if this works in OE. Go to tools>accounts>properties>servers> make sure "Log on secure password authentication" is unchecked. It worked for me when sending email from Paradise.

2004-07-23 11:02:00 | Have you rung Paradise and got them to tal you through checking a few things? Chances are their helpdesk people are aware of the problem(if in fact there is one). If you have a firewall/AV program try briefly disabling it in case they are messing with the process.

2004-07-23 11:21:00 | Thanks WTF . > Have you rung Paradise and got them to tal you > through checking a few things? Previous experience with P has not been encouraging . Wasn't it nice when they first started up ! > If you have a firewall/AV program try briefly > disabling it in case they are messing with the > process . Can't be firewall . Puzzle is that sometimes it zips straight through, and at others there is the long wait . Do others find this, or do you all get speedy service .
