| 255048 | 2004-07-24 08:47:00 | I am looking to buy speakers for my pc as I only have headphones at the moment. I play lots of games, listen to music and watch movies like everyone I guess and Im not sure what to buy. I was thinking to just buy 2.1s for when I listen to music and do other stuff rather than sit at my pc. And I was wondering if headphones produce the same kind of effects as a 5.1 setup would, cz Im really looking forward to playing DOOM in the dark alone and headphones seem to make it more personal, but Im worried to miss any of the sound features... what should I do? |

| 255049 | 2004-07-24 09:21:00 | Does doom have 5.1 sound? ...anyway, 5.1 is definitley better, because you can have sound from lots of directions, not just two, but the game/music etc has to have 5.1 sound otherwise it's just 2 (or 1) channels of sound going through multiple speakers. |
