I want to reformat the entire HDD, so its back to stratch as it was when received from PC Company...

but i dont know the step by step process for reformatting with a pc company computer and its recovery cds...

Can someone help :)

254711 2004-07-23 12:15:00 Normally like this.
Make sure the PC's first boot device in bios is the CD drive. Insert Recovery CD in CD and reboot. Computer should boot off CD and give you options to format etc. If unsure about the bio setting just try the CD in the drive and reboot. The PC might already have the CD as first boot device.

254712 2004-07-23 12:15:00 I've done a similar thing on a Win XP PC COMPANY computer, the recovery disc was a proper version of Windows.
Just stick it in and boot off the CD, and just follow the prompts

254715 2004-07-23 12:25:00 Did you boot of the CD Rob99 (151)
254716 2004-07-23 12:26:00 ..maybe use a boot disk to reformat the HDD [ after checking/changing the BIOS to boot first from FDD ] , then use the CD to reload OS [ after checking BIOS boots to CD b4 HDD ] ?? :|

See ya , and have a nice weekend

Try it again as this should do as it says, format and install.

When you say it kept all the data what do you mean. This option will install windows back on.

254719 2004-07-23 12:33:00 When you turn your computer on press the "Delete" key a few times, this should bring the BIOS screen into view, use the arrow keys to navigate around and check the boot order you want 'CD/DVD0" first followed by either 'HD' oi 'IDE0'
