2004-07-24 05:28:00 | I can download Symantic Redirector: Program Updates 1633.6KB, but for some reason it refuses to install. I have closed all running programs with success. I am running Win 98 SE2. This is the first time I have experienced this fault. Has anyone found the same and/os has a solution. | Roly Duff (5149) | |

2004-07-26 03:49:00 | Thanks Johnboy, I have selected your second link and worked my way through the Registry to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Sustem...................\Files ystem. There is no NtfsDisable8dotName Creation to Alter to zero. There is DisableLowDiskSpaceBroadcast with a value of 0x00000000 (0) which refuses to modify. Is this the same as NTFS etc or should I look elsewhere? Thanks for your help, Roly

2004-07-27 02:56:00 | Did as per your last suggestion and it worked Thanks Johnboy

2004-07-27 03:02:00 | Yes I got it sorted by following Johnboy's latest suggestion. First you must update Windows Root Certificates under Windows Update. These are not a critical update, so you might have to search a bit. Then follow either of Johnboy's latest links and follow NAV's instructions. They are really quite straightforward. Good luck. | Roly Duff (5149) | |
2004-07-27 11:12:00 | Why would you pay $40 per year to use a utility which doesn't (in my experience) work as well as a free ware anti virus program downloadable from the net? | robc (2685) | |
2004-07-31 00:10:00 | Yes, I wonder why too except that NAV stacks up very well in consumer tests. Actually I use Norton Internet Security which does much more than check for viruses. Are there similar programmes as this, available free on the web? | Roly Duff (5149) | |
2004-07-31 00:20:00 | Avg-Antivirus Zonealarm firewall Use an isp that tags spam. Norton products are rubbish,They slow down the system, throw up a boatload of incompatabilites, are unreliable,Can kill a system just trying to uninstall it,and are loaded with bells and whistles that do everything poorly. Key Features NEW! Includes product activation procedure to ensure authenticity. Wow,what a feature
