| 255323 | 2004-07-25 09:01:00 | Hi JenC Remember I had a lot of trouble installing Fedora Core 1 and dual booting with WinXP about a month ago. I ended up formatting the HD and reinstalling WinXP. I thought I would let you know that my second attempt went well. Mind you I fitted an extra HD, just for Linux, which made everything simpler. Fedora is running, dualbooting fine with WinXP. I did have to use an old external modem, as the internal one (Conexant) was not being recognised by Fedora. So I had a bit of fun finding that out. I do like the look of Fedora. There are still many things I have to learn, but am sure it will all become clear. I found some very good basic and a bit more advanced study material at: training.bytebot.net Learning from current posts and searching through old Press F1 posts often gives the answer to my computer queries. Thanks to all, Antonia |

There is always stuff to learn using Linux which is half the fun and adds to the challenge. That site you posted the to URL looks good. :) You can find heaps of how-to etc here as well - FedoraNEWS (http://fedoranews.org/). |
