2004-07-26 12:23:00 I don’t really know, lol, it has happened for a long time, I have just got sick of it lately so I thought I would try and resolve it, I think it may be RAM, but I can play battlefield for ages, when it freezes is when it is loading, same with C&C Generals. That is not the same with Sim City though, it just decides to freeze. I am not sure if this helps but I found in Sim City if I save it every say 10 mins it seems to be ok, then I forgot to save and it froze........ Tribomb (5547)
2004-07-26 16:04:00 Well, it appears that Murphy's law is active in your neck of the woods alright, 0r Sod's law or - -
Regardless of the law's name , it appears to be a bit maliciously applied in your case. It is quite odd that it should be sensitive to both the success you are having, and the time since you saved - maybe it's an exorcist you need :-)

2004-07-26 21:05:00 add more ram try new graphics card or drivers last resort reformat the thing kiwibeat (304)
2004-07-26 23:55:00 This PC is just way under powered for those games mate. As said above more ram and a better graphics card. I would put 512mb of ram at least in it and a cheap GF4 mx. probably get one of those for about $70. ram would be a bit more expensive. valiantnz (1709)
2004-07-27 00:01:00 also is your hard drive to full. Windows likes some room left on the hard drives. C&C generals and BF1942 both ran OK on my xp1800 and gf3ti500 with 512mb ram. And I mean only OK, so those system specs of yours really need to be upgraded. If it used to run OK but not now then I would say your windows install is getting old and a fresh install would certainly help. But that sux the big kahuna and then you have to reinstall everything which can go on and on and on. Good luck valiantnz (1709)
