| 255522 | 2004-07-26 09:05:00 | Have been having a problem, lately, opening some e-mail attachments. Seems to be the ones that have :- " email0009.jpg" or similar. Usually it is of a photo we are receiving. Also one that we have sent to ourselves. Th error message is :- "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options, control panel". Had a look in there but not really sure what to do in there. Any ideas?? Thanks. PJ | Poppa John (284) | ||

| 255524 | 2004-07-26 14:03:00 | Hi Poppa John, Don't know if this will help or not, but sometimes when I r/click a pic on a website and save it to my computer it won't open as the others do . When I change the 'opening program' to Irfan View, Irfan view then tells me the file is incorrect, mentions something about it being a ? jpeg and then changes it to a jpg file so I can see it . The pic doesn't say jpeg at all, but Irfan view changes it anyway . Reading this back to myself this doesn't make sense, ?:| but Irfan View may be the way to go . . . . . . if you have got that program, that is . Good luck with it . regards, Marg . |

| 255525 | 2004-07-27 10:18:00 | What is the attachment filename when it comes into your email box?? Sometimes servers or Anti Virus or even your firewall(with mailsafe on) can alter attachments to try and keep them safe. To set an association in control panel right click on a file and select "open with" choose the program you want to use or try.......NOTE make sure there is NO tick in the box at the bottom labelled "always use the selected program to open this type of file" ONLY put the tick in there once you are using the program you want. |
