255749 2004-07-27 09:07:00 How does the landscape guy on the BNZ advert who does his internet banking while having a rest break in his wheelbarrow connect his laptop to the internet with only a little aerial on the side of his laptop? Andrew B (867)
255750 2004-07-27 09:33:00 I think the dude was using Woosh.

You can get woosh modems for laptops, and connect to the internet in any area that has woosh coverage....

I might be wrong here though (someone correct me!)

cheers,

255751 2004-07-27 09:35:00 He could also be using Mobile Jetstream. Growly (6)
255752 2004-07-27 10:06:00 He is using wireless internet. You can get it from either Vodaphone or Xtra. Check out their websites for more info. Beware if you are thinking of it for yourself, it is NOT cheap. dipstick01 (445)
255753 2004-07-27 10:09:00 ads are not supposed to stand up to scrunity. They are supposed to appeal at some emotional level :) Dolby Digital (160)
255754 2004-07-27 20:24:00 Size matters not.

Coverage matters a lot.

Vodafone PC Card I have has a built-in aerial that pops out and is a funny red bump. Tests between it and the external aerial have proven in many areas I get the same speed.

Big worry: would the metal wheelbarrow tray shield the signal?
And what about the dirty fingers on the keyboard?

robo.

255755 2004-07-28 05:07:00 This is an advertisement. The guy doesn't even own the wheelbarrow, let alone the laptop.

It's not the real world. ;-)

255756 2004-07-28 05:11:00 Besides,it would be cheaper to hire a pretty young thing to do the accounts in person then to do it over the mobile network,if he could afford to waste his time and money to do that then he wouldn't be doing the "wages" himself anyhow. metla (154)
255757 2004-07-28 05:20:00 It seems that the pretty young thing abandoned him to the wheel barrow to do the wages did she not? she gave him the lappy - what more could he ask for? family tv and family pf1 remember . . . :D

she wants to get her wages so she can have a life . . . . . one that doesnt involve pandering about for the boss or any male possibly? :D

money talks .

255758 2004-07-28 08:47:00 Error in ad.

The wife throws him a lappie (It's black and looks quite modern so it can't be a Mac) and he loads up Internet Explorer (compare the stop buttons in the ad and IE) but the Mac loading pointer comes up.
