256265 2004-07-28 18:10:00 As I was visiting the supermarket (two double seven) in Newmarket yesterday, I noticed none of the August issue of "NZ PC World" did not come with a CDROM, so I lost interest putting the magazine in my shopping basket, never mind I sure the bookshops today will have the CDROM included within the magazine. 256266 2004-07-28 18:51:00 they often keep the cd's behind the counter so that folks dont steal em drcspy (146)
256267 2004-07-28 18:54:00 Some supermarkets make a practice of removing the CD's and you are supposed to ask for them at the checkout.
And of course a lot of people don't, so that leaves the free cd's for the staff.

256268 2004-07-28 19:24:00 Some bookshops have a cheap looking sticker on the magazines "Ask for free gift at the counter"

Some magazine have printed on the cover page "If the CD is missing ask the retailer"

I had to have a look inside the magazine to make sure there was a CD this month. I thought NZ PC world might of had a break this month. No worry I will go to a bookshop, and read it today instead of yesterday.

256269 2004-07-28 21:24:00 They aren't on the cover any more, I don't think. They are folded into the mag.
I got a couple the other day that I thought were without CD, but they were in there.
I will ask, though.

256270 2004-07-28 22:02:00 Haven't they been inside the magazine for a while now, usually attached to the small cardboard-like tear out preforated subscription page? Jester (13)
256271 2004-07-28 23:37:00 When I bought last month's issue, the CD was in the bottom of the "slot" the magazine stands in. (There were considerably more CD's than magazines.) It appears the optimum glue strength is still eluding the printer's searches. Personally, I prefer the present set-up to the earlier period where the glue was almost of "Fort Knox" properties. And, by the bye, aren't they currently attached inside the back cover?

256272 2004-07-28 23:47:00 I get the mag on subscription and the cd's always just tucked inside, not connected. Works fine.

And congratualtions PC World for the new plastic envelopes the cds come in. :D

256273 2004-07-29 08:16:00 It's OK I got it from the petrol station at the Newmarket end of khyber pass (sorry to spill the beans, I can not tell a lie) The CD was placed on the front cover (bottom right) right on top of the same picture that is on the CD, and it stood out like a sore thumb,
I pulled out all the magazines from the rack at the supermarket and there was nothing hard like a CDROM inside, Sorry to make a federal case out of the matter.

256274 2004-07-29 08:34:00 My last 2 CD's have been inside the mag and ... wait for it ... completely snapped! Because the mailpeople can't see the CD inside the mag they bend it to get the mag into the PO Box - D'Oh! To PC World's credit, they are sending a replacement. andrew93 (249)
