256037 2004-07-28 06:25:00 I have Firefox 0.9.2 on Windows XP and find it fast enough but if I don't use it to open a site for about two hours, it refuses to connect and I need to reboot. Turning the router on and off does not help. Any thoughts? Cymbalz (4460)
256038 2004-07-28 07:24:00 Probably more of a network/router problem than Firefox.

Perhaps with no web activity the router disconnects? Look for the option in the config pages?

Which Router have you got?

Not a network thing it's too regular. Have searched options to no avail. The router is Pragmatic single port

256041 2004-07-28 14:42:00 I know with dialup there is a setting to have it disconnect if idle for a certain time. Are you sure something like this isn't set. mikebartnz (21)

256043 2004-07-30 05:13:00 Does anyone know of a time restriction before Firefox shuts down??? Cymbalz (4460)

That will be in your Internet Settings in Control Panel, not in Firefox. It is designed so that if there is no internet activity for the set time your computer is disconnected from the internet. Quite handy if you are on a time-limited plan and leave the computer, forgetting to disconnect.

256045 2004-07-30 07:46:00 Hi Susan B
If only it was that simple. I've been right through Internet Settings and the only reference to a timed disconnection is set at "Never" :-(((
