1367297 2014-02-10 04:30:00 It seems that Seagate have recently (I hadn't seen them on there before last year, anyway) noted on their RMA page that Westcon group in New Zealand can be used instead of sending the drive to Seagate themselves.

However, a friend of mine who has been trying to RMA a Seagate drive told me that Westcon say they haven't done it since 2004 and to contact Ingram Micro instead - who apparently denied all responsibility and said to contact the original vendor, Seagate, or ... Westcon. :illogical

As far as I know the story goes that the original shop he purchased from no longer exists, hence the need to find someone else.

Anyone here know if there is a Seagate distributor in NZ that does RMA - or do you still need to send it away to Seagate Singapore?

1367298 2014-02-10 04:36:00 I think you need to have an account with Westcon to send RMA drives back via them, so not really an option for any Joe public.
Ingram Micro would be the same.
Best to send it back directly yourself.

BUT as CYaBro said, Ingram dont deal with the general public, could be for resellers only .

1367301 2014-02-10 05:52:00 I emailed Ingram about half a year ago and they helped me out ... my store went out of business (C1Mall in Chch). They then got PB Tech Auckland to help me out (to manage the RMA process). Nomad (952)

Why not just send it to Seagate? Doesn't take long at all, their process is very good.
