| 1367043 | 2014-02-07 07:47:00 | Hi guys. Not computer, but I know we have a few Brainiac's out there. I have a Telecom, ZTE R1 flip phone and only about 18 months old. The other morning I turned it on, as I turn them off at night, and the main screen is just a grey like colour, but from screen seems okay. cdn.pressf1.pcworld.co.nz I got a txt in, but could read it and received a call okay. I removed battery and sim, for a while, about 3 times and still the same. Does anyone know if there is a way to rest the phone? :thanks Ian |

| 1367046 | 2014-02-07 09:13:00 | Thanks, for that. Problem is, only 12 month warrenty. In that case just trade the phone in for a newer phone. You can pick up a new phone for $0 on contract or pick up a $99 phone on prepay. Quite a lot of options to choose from. I would doubt that your current phone would be worth anywhere near what you paid for it now. Phones are like computers, they loose half their value as soon as you leave the shop floor. (unless it's an iPhone - they retain theirs) Just get the person in the shop to transfer all the data (contacts etc) over to the new phone when you get it. |

| 1367048 | 2014-02-07 18:47:00 | I have an elderly Nokia 3710. Last year it lost the screen - just black. Took it to Omnitech and they thought perhaps a connection....but turned out to be the motherboard. The motherboard would have been $70 but I had a spare parts phone too so total repair was $45. This year it lost the ability to detect the battery condition, you would plug it in and it would never report fully charged. (Tested this on husbands as he has the same phone too - that eliminated battery) Total repair on that from Omni (Charging IC) $50. They have a $25 inspection fee on non-smartphones so pretty good really, they did not use parts from my spare this time. I am very happy and did not have to hunt for another phone, quite happy with this one. Omni have a good reputation too. |
