1366931 2014-02-06 00:13:00 just 2 drivers I need to install. amd display driver for the hd4850/hd6310 and silicon image 3114 storage drivers.

hangs part way into either driver installation.

left system on over night and it failed to resolve the hanging.

THIS IS NOT PIRATED --- its actually an evaluation copy of Microsoft Windows Multipoint Server 2012 Premium.
they had a download on their website which proved far better than the incredibly slow torrents of 2011 that I had previously found. now I could use das loader but I think resetting the evaluation period to the maximum of 240 days and reinstalling will prove to be the best course of action. hopefully multiseat is a standard windows 9 feature.

Three Windows for the Elven-kings under the sky.
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Redmond where the Shadows lie.
One Windows to rule them all,
One Windows to find them,
One Windows to bring them all,
and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Redmond where the Shadows lie.

1366933 2014-02-06 03:20:00 You may find the ATI drivers are not compatible with Server 2012.

Where did you try to get drivers from ?

Did you try any of the drivers from SiliconImage direct ? www.siliconimage.com Looks like their latest was back in 2010

nt6.x compatible drivers for both parts exist, got both sets of drivers from the official websites.

its really odd as passt experience indicates desktop and server OS have only minor differences and drivers for the most part are interchangeable.

many vista drivers work fine under windows 8.

anyhow im not exactly fussed with giving multipoint 2011 a go instead. most of the features im worried about were introduced in 2011 anyway.

many power users ue server os even for gaming so it would be very surprising, absurd even, to see gpu support dropped from a modern os...

after evaluation win7 hosed my bootmanager and failed to boot itself, i ended up using a friend's win laptop to torrent the third most popular win7 torrent from the bay and used a legitimate key.

will probably use userful to achieve multiseat.

everything is lovely now :D

everything is lovely now :D Don't know why people risk downloading Torrents of W7's that could contain "Extras" when you can download a legit copy direct from Microsofts servers esp if the person has a legit Product key. techverse.net Speed is good, I was after one the other day, around 4-5 minutes from their servers. Some people who do the torrents may be after pirated versions.

The real Multiseat software works really nice when setup as it should. At the moment the most I've had running on Multiseat when testing it is 3 users all at once, and that's only because I ran out of USB ports and spare monitors :D

1366939 2014-02-09 08:11:00 Replying from phone. Winload.exe missing or corrupt. Affects official evaluation on one pc and pirated copy on another. This is caused by some sort of corruption, bad install , bad burn of the DVD = previous faults, or various other causes.

By any chance is this got a Dual Boot setup installed ?

Copied from a site, cant be bothered writing it all out :), you can try this:

Insert your Windows install disc and boot from it

Press any key at the “Press any key to boot from CD or DVD” message

Choose Repair your computer after you select the language, time and keyboard method

Select your Windows installation drive (usually C:\) and click Next

Select Command Prompt in the System Recovery Options box

Write bootrec /rebuildbcd and press Enter:

Wait for the program to finish

1366940 2014-02-10 03:43:00 got one of the systems booting, mum threatened to replace it so on the next boot it "completed installation" and has worked fine since.

the other pc hangs before, during or after boot. im guessing ill need to replace the ram. ddr3 prices seem to be higher than they once were.
