1366620 2014-02-02 03:07:00 Hi, oh knowledgeable ones :illogical
Thought was about time to upgrade our Office 2003, so been trying out both Open Office Writer or Kingsoft Writer.
They both have so good features, but unsure which one to go with.
Today, my wife tells me she don't like Kingsoft Writer, so I guess that answers the question.:help::help::help:
Any how, I know the Open Office has a feature that puts an Icon on the start menu bar thingee. but can't remember how to make it do
that.
So, please, can someone help, with that and your ideas as to which is the better program and why?
:thanks
Ian

1366621 2014-02-02 04:24:00 I use LibreOffice. Prefer this as it looks like the older (2003) version of MS Office. Agent_24 (57)
1366622 2014-02-02 04:25:00 Whats the start bar thingee ?? are you talking the start menu or the Taskbar down the bottom & what OS ?.

Re Open Office or Kingsoft, you do know that you can make Kingsoft office look and work the same as Office 2003 if you wanted??

All you do is click on the shirt Icon and it gives you the opens to change it.

That's nice to know. Pity Microsoft didn't give that option...

To me I don't mind either.

1366626 2014-02-02 05:37:00 Ok lets assume its W7, W8 /8.1 is slightly different.

W7 -- Open the program first then close it, click start, it will appear in the start menu. right click it, pin to Start menu. ( these are only shortcuts to the actual exe relating to what ever file.)

If theres a icon on the desktop, drag it to the start button, it will auto pin to start menu. Video from MS showing along with other options.
