| 1366365 | 2014-01-29 07:06:00 | I have an Imac running OS X 10.5.8. In System Preferences > Startup Disk, it shows 3 options, a hard disk called Macintosh HD with Mac OS X 10.5.8 on it, a hard disk called Mac with Mac OS X 10.4.11 on it and Network Startup. Option 1 is selected and loads 10.5.8 but the only Hard Disk icon on the desktop is one labelled Mac, the one containing 10.4.11 and opening it shows all the folders and files that go with that system. My question is, how do I get the disk called Macintosh HD to show on the desktop so I can open it and access the files and folders for that system? I am comparatively new to OS X and find the philosophy very different to windows which I understand quite well. Would welcome any help available on this. |

I have expanded everything in Mac and sorted on date modified and found a lot of activity pre August 2007 and post September 2013 and nothing in between so it looks like the update was done in Sept 2013 and everything dumped in the one system folder. Might take some sorting out!!! |
