1348195 2013-07-07 12:24:00 So, I was enjoying a meal with my dad a couple of nights back, and I was recommending him a book, when it dawned on me that I have no idea what it was called. So if you recognize it then shout it out would you?

In a nut shell, Spaceship carrying colonists has become infected by plague.killing off near all life on board the ship and mutating those that survived.

The ship itself has been overrun by fast growing root vegetables, and the people have lost all knowledge outside of living as small tribes within the foliage that fills all the decks of the ship they have access to.

When they do discover the truth it turns out they were on a return trip to earth and they arrived at their destination many generations prior but have been kept in a long term orbit around the earth as the people fear the disease on board.

Also the rats have telepathic abilities, an army of moths and a bunny rabbit.....

1348203 2013-07-08 01:53:00 Hmmm, not the story that you decribe Metla, no where near as lurid, but a good read is - "Non-Stop by Brian W. Aldiss".

I think his best book is "Hothouse", my daughter is named after a character in the book.
