1346884 2013-06-25 04:51:00 Hi Team

I need to forward some funds to our daughter's account in Melbourne so that she can fly home for Christmas, and rather than waste time faffing around, I figured that it would be more productive to consult the brains trust on F1. Last time I did it at our local bank and copped some unexpected fees so I decided to try DIY instead. She doesn't have a credit card so I can't do it via Visa, so what options are there, if any?

Cheers

1346888 2013-06-25 06:06:00 Its possibly but there will be fees. I'd suggest going in to the bank as if it isn't processed correctly the money can end up going through the exchange rate twice which isn't pretty. At work we were recently sent a payment of 20k Aussie and by the time it got to us it was 18.7k as it had gone through exchange twice and then into our Aussie account.

Easiest option is buy her the tickets. That way she has no excuse for not coming too!

1346890 2013-06-25 06:10:00 With overseas, we just pay the $15 fee and do a bank draft and send over via snail mail or wire it using a NZ bank. Nomad (952)
1346891 2013-06-25 06:35:00 Paypal? Agent_24 (57)
1346892 2013-06-25 06:42:00 Does PayPal still let you make payments as a gift? Used to be no fees on those hueybot3000 (3646)
1346893 2013-06-25 06:43:00 Has she still got a NZ bank account? If so, just deposit the amount required into it. Whenu (9358)
