1367258 2014-02-10 06:48:00 I run one hooked up to my TV as a media player. It runs open elec has a USB keyboard touchpad combo. Open elec its fairly simple to use its a front end for XBMC, the Youtube app is very good. I watch a certain UK program that has every series (14 in total) on Youtube. I also stream my media from our file server using the PI. I'm in Halswell if you ever want to see one running.

I did try running the Pi version of Debian but it wasn't really usable the browsers kept locking up. You can also map buttons on some TV remotes for the Pi as well

1367259 2014-02-10 06:56:00 That is encouraging, I was hoping for some remote access to it. DeSade (984)

or
here (openelec.tv)
are good places to start, I learnt a lot from both of these forums

there are plenty of other places on Google too

1367261 2014-02-10 18:32:00 Yep theyre pretty easy to remotely code using SSH or even VNC if you wanted to, personally i find its best to run them headless as it allows you to devote more of its limited memory to the cpu and even running a desktop will noticably slow down the device.

The good thing about the Pi is that if you ever have problems, any and all the info you need wether its specific or not can be found with a quick google search.

1367262 2014-02-14 01:34:00 We have gotten ours from element 14, 2 day delvery most times too. Get the one with the case, cases werent available easily when I got the first ones: lol I made a cardboard/oragami one for it. Then got a case for about $8 from dealextreme.

They even make usable thin client machines and I have had Quake 3 and I think Minecraft running on one!
