1366632 2014-02-02 23:16:00 The latest Free Kingsoft Office now can save in more formats for (Word)*.docx, *.dotx, *.docm, *.dotm (Spreadsheets) *.xlsx, *.xlsm

Quite a few of my customers love it, many are used to using Office 2003, and kingsoft is almost identical ( has the options anyway)

From their site:

Writer:
Input file formats: Word (97/2000/2003/2007/2010) .doc, .dot, .docx, .dotx, .docm, .dotm, .xml, .rtf, .wps and .wpt formats
Output file formats: Word (97/2000/2003/2007/2010) .doc, .dot, .docx, .dotx, .docm, .dotm; .rtf, .txt, Kingsoft .wps and .wpt formats

Spreadsheets:
Input file formats: Excel (97/2000/2003/2007/2010) .xls, .xlsx, .xlsm, .xlt, .csv, .xml, .html, .et and .ett
Output file formats: Excel (97/2000/2003/2007/2010) .xls, .xlsx, .xlsm, .xlt, .csv, .et, .ett and more.

Presentation:
Input file formats: PowerPoint (97/2000/2003/2007/2010) .ppt, .pptx, .pps, .ppsx, .pot, .dps and .dpt formats
Output file formats: PowerPoint (97/2000/2003) .ppt, .pps, .pot, .dps and .dpt format.

And of course save as PDF

Yep, that's true, Gary 67.
I put in onto DIL's netbook as others just didn't run.
Mind you, I gave it back, to her as just too slow

With my DIL's system, don't think it was a Java problem.
Our grandbabies had been downloading heaps of games and was full on virus and malware.
It was the first time I'd worked on a Windows 7 system, so was a learning curve.
Managed to get it running, but gave it back as was so slow and could only upgrade to 2 GB's and was Win 7 starter.
So not a good combination, but a least gave me so confidence on a new system.
My desktop is now Vista, something I not had before, either, but getting there.
I understand Vista and Win 7 are pretty similar.
Is that correct?

1366636 2014-02-03 01:44:00 W7 is built / upgrade from vista. In other words, they took the things that people were complaining about in Vista, fixed them as well as added in some other guff, changed the looks a little, and bingo -- W7 :) wainuitech (129)
1366637 2014-02-03 03:13:00 I use kingsoft at home but mostly for the spreadsheets, seems fine to me.
At work I use office 2010, don't personally see an advantage either way.
