1367023 2014-02-07 03:11:00 Has anyone used or are using Chrome OS as their default Operating System? If so what is your opinion?.As someone who does a lot of downloading,I basically don't do anything else on my laptop,I am tempted to try it out.Feed back appreciated. ruup (1827)
1367024 2014-02-07 03:16:00 Friends son bought a Chromebook in the States, he is only 10 but as far as I know he likes it, lets face it like most kids all they ever do is go online which is really what Chrome OS is, just a front end for the web gary67 (56)
1367025 2014-02-07 19:30:00 Why don't you try it ? - Then you will know. If you don't like it,
get rid of it and go back to IE. I have both installed with IE set
as default and use Chrome for some apps not available on IE.

1367028 2014-02-08 11:18:00 I've used Chromium OS by Hexxeh in the past, it was great! Used it full time for several weeks. I've no longer got that laptop, instead have a work laptop, but hell aside from Wireshark I could do everything in Chrome OS still even then too.

Grab Chromium OS by Hexxeh and give it a whirl? Runs from a Thumbdrive :)

The entire Chrome project revolves around the cloud computing model. That fancy term simply means that all of your data and applications are stored online, in the "cloud," so that you can access them from any computer, anywhere.

1367030 2014-02-08 22:24:00 I presume ChromeOS uses google docs? Which are now available offline. Does this work the same for Chrome os? plod (107)
1367031 2014-02-08 23:29:00 Yes, it does. Chilling_Silence (9)
1367032 2014-02-10 07:37:00 some things work offline, some things don't. some things use one program when you're online, and another when you're offline (like gmail)

there are lowcost Windows 8 laptops that are available for the same or very very similar prices
