1347678 2013-07-01 21:54:00 Anyone know where to source Acer parts? I'm after a PSU for a 2004-ish vintage SFF desktop. Part# 9PA250A000
Looks something like this, with a SATA power connector i.ebayimg.com(KGrHqFHJC0E7BcvfcB9BO6GZJ8erg~~60_35.JPG

I seem to recall contacting Acer directly a couple of years ago for some part and they were next to useless.

Any PSU should do, if it;'s a 20pin MB, it still doesn't matter - the extra 4 pin can be left off.....
If it's case size that's an issue, change the case.

Dove are Acer agents, you could ask, but really, it shouldn't matter, a standard PSU will do.

1347680 2013-07-02 00:55:00 Quite often, with Brand name SFF cases, any PSU will not fit.
Its often a non standard size & shape power supply :badpc: , as PCTEK says, you may have to change the case if you cant get a PSU to fit.

Also try your local computer recyclers.

Try trademe, you may have to buy the whole PC, a PC that old should be dirt cheap.

1347681 2013-07-02 01:27:00 Hmmmmm, a case swap might be easiest, quickest and cheapest. Will see what I have in the shed. A standard PSU definitely works, had it hooked up to one for an hour or so no problem.
I had to source a SFF Dell PSU a couple of years ago and that cost around $140 (refurbished).

1347682 2013-07-02 01:39:00 Those types of Acer Power Supplies are hard to come by. They are not like the standard PSU.

Had a bugger of a time locating one myself last year. Did manage to locate a third party one, BUT it was 5 mm wider than the Acer, and wouldn't fit :(

The other problem about changing cases is some acers have the back plate built into the case, so you cant pop it out and put it into another standard case - OK if you dont mind having no backplate.

refurbished = clean the outside, blow it out with compressed air
