1478740 2021-07-17 05:20:00 Recently bought a LG 55SM8100PVA Smart TV.
Quite happy with it but the remote doesn't suit me.
I have fat, fumbling, unfeeling fingers.
I need one that is rectangular & flat, like they use to be.
So are looking for a suitable universal replacement.
A google search comes up with many that may work, but the trick is find the most compatible one.

Any ideas ?

There are several Apps some are general some are listed as LG.

My Son hates using the Remote for the TV and prefers the App he put onto his Phone.:2cents:

I do cast to it from my tablet.

They also tend to not work perfectly, we had one once, some things worked, others didn't, universal is a bit of a misnomer. I'd go with Wainuitechs suggestion instead.

They also did some things but not all and neither would turn it back on.

1478745 2021-07-18 02:41:00 What Piroska posted is also very true, often "Universal" remotes wont do all the tasks the original does, had that with our old TV, the remote broke, and it wouldn't turn the TV on, you could change channels and volume that was about it.

What was a pleasant surprise was the very old Windows Media Centre Remote ( Windows XP Media Center Edition ) works with the Media player Software I was trying -- Even SWMBO can operate it :banana :D
