1474687	2021-01-25 02:37:00	Hi guys. Looking for a freebee file backup program, that is easy to use. I have latest version of Win 10, but been finding that its stopping part way through. I deled the files of my external drive & did a direct backup, but took a long time. I understand there are 3 types, full backup, incremental backup, and differential backup. I understand full & incremental, but not differential. Thanks for your help, Ian.	ianhnz (4263)
1474688	2021-01-25 03:13:00	The Win10 build in backup has a few bugs & even MS now recommend not to use it . Just why MS still cant come up with a fully working backup program is beyond me . That should have been no.1 priority , Mac has had a good backup built in for ages now. Use Macrium , Im sure someone will chime in with help setting that up. :) The 1st backup will take a long time . Then incrementals will be quicker after that If your HD is slow it will take even longer If its USB1 it will be ridiculously slow If USB goes into power save, it may fail. If the PC goes into power save, it may fail. The best bet is to start with a brand new (or newish) USB hard drive .	1101 (13337)

1474690	2021-01-25 08:26:00	As far as I understand it... Incremental will back up changes since the previous backup (which may also have been an incremental backup). Differential backup backs up all changes since the last FULL backup. So each time you run a diff backup it will re-process files it backed up in the last diff backup, AND any new files since then, too. This means you only need the original full backup files + the latest diff backup set for a restore, whereas with incremental, you may need 100 incremental backup sets for the same restore, if the last full backup was 100 backups ago. 1474691	2021-01-25 08:38:00	What they dont tell you in demo videos is the FREE version you cant do Incremental back ups only Full and Differential , and you cant back up just a folder /Folders. These minor inconveniences is just that, not a big deal. If you want all the features you need to get the Purchased Versions.	wainuitech (129)
