2020-12-23 01:52:00 | We usually use Computer Food online. Are the 3rd party ones brand new? We are just printing documents with text or photocopiers so not quality critical. We have never replaced the drum. When we print out a power bill the areas which is a color which the BW laser prints out monochrome instead of a solid black there are streaks. Is this normal for a laser printer? I don't remember it was like when it was new. We have a Brother HL-L2380DW. Delivery is free, maybe we should order a toner and then later can order the drum? Thanks.

2020-12-23 05:33:00 | Been using computer food toners for about 5 years in our ancient Brother printer with no problems, maybe we have just been lucky but it has saved us a fair bit of coin in that time. Now that SWMBO has handed over doing the accounts for her sons business we don't print very much, but before that it would be a ream every 6 weeks it seemed. | gary67 (56) | |

Someone else did buy a toner from Cartridge World some years ago with our older printer but it was leaking at the sides. Could see the marks on the toner also. We have been using them for many years also. We have always bought OEM brands thou. Log into the Printer and look at the Specs, it will say the life of teh Drum Left / Used. This this remaining? About 2,500 pages in total printed. |

2020-12-23 06:50:00 | If its only Done 2500 Pages then there approx 78% remaining, the drum specs say "Approx. 12,000 Pages " The lightness is usually a indication of low Toner. You should be getting a warning saying toner low, if not and its a third party Toner it may not be registering / detecting correctly. If you had a High Yield Toner then that's about right (2500 Pages) Here's the Toners From Brother and their Basic Specs. 10721 While Original Toners are more expensive, I wont use third party or refills. Once from Computer Food, had a third party Toner on a old Laser, after a few prints there was a rather odd "poooof" When trying to print-- Nice cloud of black toner floating all around -- Flipping great  - Toner had exploded, totally ruining the printer at the same time as it was impossible to get it completely clean.

2020-12-23 07:28:00 | I don't use it often but no one has recall seeing a low toner warning. We have had the original toner and we then bought only 1 oem Brother brand toner high yield. I did go to the settings and under toner life? It says its on the low mark but no exclamation or anything. Typical family here we just don't print much they use for some bills that's about it. With recipes etc it's easier just to download the pdf or print to pdf. Documents also get outdated. Recipes new ones comes and goes anyway.

2020-12-23 20:57:00 | We usually use Computer Food online. Are the 3rd party ones brand new? . Define new . I used to be in that industry (printer consumables) . Worse than used car salesmen for dodgy practices Generally, the 3rd party toners & drums are never as good as genuine . 3rd party drums often didnt last as long , and the actual drum was sometimes not even replaced (just cleaned) Now even worse with some of the CRAP coming out of Ch . So , not as good. But considerably cheaper . I wouldnt buy genuine (with a few exceptions) . But , if its color, and you NEED accurate colors in the print, buy genuine .
