Why should Maori be any different. I do object to the Maori language being force fed to us on our TV news with random phrases being thrown in by pakeha news readers every chance they get which add nothing to an english speaking audience. | CliveM (6007) | ||

I agree, if these announcers are going to speak Maori then they should be taught it properly, not just any Maori word in anywhere. I laughed on one news item the announcer crossed to a reporter and greeted her with Haere Ra. I thought how rude greeting someone with goodbye. :) |

Not only should they be taught it properly, but how about a translation as well? I'm certain the majority have no idea what they are going on about.:illogical |
