| 256639 | 2004-07-30 04:52:00 | Ive just captured an AVI file, and I'd rather not have to re-capture the whole lot again The audio is about 1 second behind the video the whole way. How would I go about correcting this? I captured with MSI PVS. Virtual Dub wont open it, saying: MPEG Import Filter: pack synchronization error Any ideas?? Cheers Chill. |

Or alternativly cut a few frams out of the video tack inorder to shorten it,However both methods require the file to be reencoded, which will probally take at least as long as a capturing it and the process isn't garenteed. |

As for using something else, you could run it through VD and get it to output the video and audio into seperate files then use your audio editing software to adjust the audio, then run it back through VD to stich em back together. a google on Demux may help. Demux Demuxing / demultiplexing basically means, when speaking of video formats, splitting the file that contains both audio and video data (and possible other data streams as well, like subtitles), into separate files, each containing one element of the original file. Demuxing file doesn't weaken the video nor audio quality, it doesn't do anything for these data streams, it just simply saves them into separate files. Opposite of demux is muxing, which basically joins the datastreams back together. |
