| 256869 | 2004-07-31 05:52:00 | I have XP Pro on an AMD 2700+ and when coming down to the office in the morning, often find my computer has turned itself on. There is no problem with anything activating, as it does not get past the keyboard "Enter" to finish the booting procedure. The computer is in a secure home/office location so no other family members are playing "silly bu**rs". I have gone through as many tweaks and settings as I can find but am well aware that there are many others hidden deep in XP. (I am a recently converted 98SE addict). I suspect my Microsoft Wireless keyboard and mouse are reacting to my cordless phone in the office and the phone ringing may somehow set things off. Can anyone suggest a checklist of things to check so that all things that can be turned off, are!! ?? Sapper Bro |
