256842 2004-07-31 01:45:00 I logged into SuSE this morning to try out WineX but when I hit the numlock key to type in my numeric password the mouse locked.

I tried not using the keypad to log in, but as soon as it hits kde, it locks up and I can't move the mouse at all. Everything else, however is fine...

I also tried using gnome but to no avail.

I cannot remember anything that I changed to make it spas out like this.

Anyone know the keys in SuSE 9.0 to open the control center?

Cheers
Will

256844 2004-07-31 11:54:00 It looks to me as if you somehow have the wrong mouse driver loaded.

I expect you will be booting to the GUI? (run level 5). I am not a GRUB expert but somehow you need to load Linux at the command shell only (see portal.suse.com). With the LILO boot loader you go CTRL X and type Linux 3 for run level 3 (no GUI).

Once there, log in as root and run the command shell version of YaST (just type YaST) - find the mouse configuration and change the mouse type.

Hope this helps.

256845 2004-07-31 11:56:00 If you can get to a command shell window without the mouse you can start YaST there without having to reboot. JohnD (509)
