| 257587 | 2004-08-02 09:02:00 | Hi all Since upgrading to Zonealarm Pro (Got 15 days trial back after using the update) I keep getting access blocked messages from Zonealarm. The scary thing is that they're all coming from other Orcon IPs. But the IP keeps changing, and so does the port. Is this normal? I didn't get this when I was on Clear, and after less then 24 hours i've had 128 access attempts! |

It's traffic you don't need so you are better off eliminating it. I had an occasion not so long ago where I was for some strange reason getting pinged from my ISP's DNS server. I would get about 400 in a couple of days. Emailed them and got told it was normal traffic. I knew it wasn't but they were persistant but I did notice it stopped shortly after my complaint. It was as if they were almost trying to use my PC as a DNS server. |

| 257592 | 2004-08-02 10:57:00 | I use Norton Internet security as a firewall. From time to time I get the odd alert ( ping ) from the software. Tracking down this I find that it is a computer on my network doing this. Now I don't have a home network (lan) but use a wireless ISP. Most alerts I get come fron 127.xxx.xxx.xxx. While on Xtra dial up I often got intrusions from alien at Xtra. They stopped when I phoned and moaned. I don't worry about this any more. I just keep my system up to date with latest virus definitions and windows patches. |
