257476 2004-08-02 05:11:00 My Program is Windows ME.. I have AVG anti virus (free edition) I also have Zone Alarm fire wall, free edition. My Problem is my AVG has detected a virus, they tell me it is " Downloader funweb.A" Trojan Horse. They (AVG) can't remove it. I downloaded TZ spyware adwear remover and after running it six times they told me that I did not have any spyware adwear!!! I ran AVG again and they are telling me I still have his same Trojan horse dowloader funweb.A
I have noticed that my computer has not been operating well the last couple of days, very slow , I did a defrag about a week ago.
The actual file name that AVG have given me for this trojanhorse is c:\_Restore\Temp\F3EZSETP.O
Please I hope you can help me

257478 2004-08-02 05:24:00 The reason it cannot be cleaned, is that its in your System Restore file folder.

Turn off System Restore, reboot and turn it back on again. That purges all the restore files and will get rid of it.

You would not want to "restore" the PC system to a date when it was infected, so its not as if you will be losing anything of real use.

Not sure in ME, but try Control Panel - System - System Restore fo the options. Or "Help and Support" for more detailed assistance for your version of Windows.

257481 2004-08-02 05:27:00 The message is telling you that a copy of the virus still remains in the System Restore points in Windows ME.
AVG is not able to remove it from this location and you will need to disable System Restore and reboot your computer. After rebooting run AVG again then re-enable system restore.
For instructions on how to disable and re-enable system restore have a look here:

If your computer is still slow afterwards let us know and you will be given more help.

257484 2004-08-04 03:35:00 Shaun_68, try downloading and running Stinger (www.majorgeeks.com) which is a stand-a-lone anti-virus cleaner tool (of the most prolific and newest malware). Just need to download it as it doesn't need installing as such.

Then do an online scan to clear up any others here (housecall.trendmicro.com)
