| 257393 | 2004-08-02 02:35:00 | Hi guys... we have a photocopier at work, a Konica 7022. To upgrade the ram, I've been told I need to spend $160 + $85 install for 64 megs of ram... Obviously not too happy about that, and they will not tell me what brand or type of ram they use. Apparently it is a "proprietary ram" which I cannot buy from a PC store. I don't believe this for a second. Should I continue looking for alternatives, or simply accept this ridiculous quotation? Lo. |

| 257394 | 2004-08-02 02:48:00 | We had a Kyocera Laser printer at work in which I upgraded the memory. It used 72 pin SIMM's and Kyocera "proprietary" memory was a horrendous price. Can you pull the memory bank out of the copier and have a look at the slots? Also the manual may give more detailed RAM specs. I wouldn't be surprised if you can use generic RAM in it, I'd certainly give that a go before paying for Konica branded stuff. | Sb0h (3744) | ||
| 257395 | 2004-08-02 02:54:00 | I might get a technician to open it up for me to have a nosey... telling me that it's proprietary is just ignorant and it annoys me no end... I'll have a look in the manual! Cheers, Lo. |

| 257396 | 2004-08-02 03:40:00 | I have seen some older RIP's that go with some copiers that had proprietary RAM but other than that they usually do take standard 72 pin simms or the new ones take standard dimms (usually PC-100) | CYaBro (73) | ||
