| 258018 | 2004-08-04 03:02:00 | I have built a Computer with a Compaq 5716 Motherboard (Compaq 686S1). IT works in both Windows 2000 and LInux however on booting Error Code 1782 comes up. I then have to push F1 to boot. Compaq site has not been much help. Tried a Softpac on site but no difference, Can anyone help |

| 258020 | 2004-08-04 03:18:00 | That error is one of the originals. It was in the first IBM BIOS. :D It can indicate major problems in the HD controller or a drive. But it can also be a "silly". Double check that you have the right jumper settings on your HD. |
