257853 2004-08-03 08:41:00 Hi Everyone. August is here, and it's time to show off your desktops :)

First, some instructions on making a screenshot.

1: Close or Minimise any applications, so you get a clear shot of your desktop.

2: On your Keyboard, press "PrtScn"

3: Open a Graphics program (EG: Paint, Photoshop or Gimp)

4: Press "Ctrl" + "V"

5: You should see a picture of your desktop.

6: Save it as a .jpg, .jpeg, .gif or .png

7: Surf to sal.neoburn.net

8: Type in your username, click browse (and find the image you just saved)

9: Click Submit.

10: You will then be given the url for your picture.

11: If you want, you can show off by posting your computers specs (Or include System Properties in the screenie, but be careful to blank out the personal info!)

Then post back here with a link for people to gave at and drool over ;)

Here's me desktop as of a week ago:

[www.sal.neoburn.net Glass 3D Desktop[/url]

I was running Enlightenment and playing around with Looking Glass. I'll post a screeny of my current desktop later on in the thread - Im still working on it because I started running kde-3.3.0_beta2 on saturday and havent had time to make it look pretty, or functional.

PC Spec's:
Clevo D430e Laptop
Pentium4 2.8Ghz
512MB Ram
30GB Internal, 120GB External HDD
DVD / CD-RW Internal, DVD+/-RW External
OS: Gentoo Linux 2004.1, kernel-2.6.8-rc2-love2

The pic you can see was included with Enlightenment. You can see it in the Pager - Its nothing special.
Notice how there's no taskbar at all?! No Systray.... There's a pager and that's it :-)

....Give me a few days ;-)

Chill.

257856 2004-08-03 09:37:00 Here is my current desktop. Icons are usually there, but as they cover most of the desktop I turned them off for the screenshot.

It's kind of boring at the moment, as I have been busy setting everything up on my PC since the last reinstall, and the desktop is down the list :)

I forgot system specs. Like the desktop, they're kinda boring:

Celeron 2.2GHz
512MB Ram
160gb & 40gb
15" CRT :(
Windows XP Pro SP1

I'm willing to take any donations towards adding more grunt to my machine, or for a new screen :D ;)

257858 2004-08-03 09:48:00 How does one turn off desktop icons in Win2KPro? but not permanently. zqwerty (97)
257859 2004-08-03 09:50:00 I'm not sure about 2kPro, but in XP I just right-clicked the desktop, Arrange Icons, removed the tick from "Show icons on desktop".

257862 2004-08-03 11:18:00 Hi Megaman,
Doing this to find out how it works or if it works. Pic wouldn't load when saved as .jpg in Paint, but ok in Irfan View.

Last time this was run I really liked the Florescent blue toadstools which poster kindly gave website to download from. Don't remember his name but thankyou to the person concerned anyway. I love it.

This is my main one with the Solar System, planets and lions.

PS How did you get you icons at the top of the screen in a taskbar???
Your cube looks really sharp.
