258238 2004-08-05 00:10:00 i repeat .......check your cpu usage stats that'll tellyou a lot potentially anyway may help to identify the problem area drcspy (146)
258239 2004-08-05 04:37:00 Okay Guys thanks,:)
shouldda said Zone Alarm full Security Suite running too Phoenix. Had NAV SS 2004 before that. Also PCillin but Zone Alarm made me uninstall. Following your tip I’ve reloaded and run Housecall. Da nada.

DRC Spy - I have checked the CPU often but all processes say 00 usage, so ignored it, but after your tip went right to bottom and found System Idle Process flicking between 98/99 (is that %?) but its Mem and Peak Mem is only 20K? But overall CPU Performance averages 2%. I’m lost. Should I change Priority or Affinity?
Should I reset the system cache or kernel memory. I sometimes get an error message something like “kernel dump set at 0 will cause some programs to malfunction” but it never is set at 0 - Page File Space 2.40 GB. I’m reluctant to change anything I don’t understand

I will take it back. I did trust the vendors until, months later, I noticed my specs were different to my ordered specs and the invoice listed specs. And its always been slow from day 1, which made me wonder if it was put together correctly.

Now, just to be sure I’m right -The “Power Series” refers to Atech PCSystem p4-3000 Power PC On invoice, but on my system:
System Type X86-based PC
Processor x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 9 GenuineIntel ~3000 Mhz
Processor x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 9 GenuineIntel ~3000 Mhz. I also note on the invoice it says quantity 1 so why do I have 2? (I assumed that was for HTT) but in that case it should show 2 on invoice?
Maybe OT but why do I have 5 USB? –

Processor x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 9 GenuineIntel ~3000 Mhz
Just refers to the fact that you have a P4 Intel cpu running at
3000 mhz, which would I guess be correct for a Atech PCSystem p4-3000 Power PC, the fact that you appear to have 2 is just how your system
sees a HT cpu.
You have 5 USB controllers all together, 4 USB 1.1 and 1 USB 2.0.
Often with OEM computers they load all sorts of programs that you
usually don't need or want and each program needs some system memory, so you may not have any memory left to run applications
or games, which would make the pc very slow.
As it is under warranty I would take it back to the dealer and get them to fix it, I,m sure they would be only to happy to help you.
