258100 2004-08-05 04:07:00 also, what distros does/does dd come packaged with? willie_M (5608)
258101 2004-08-05 04:11:00 dd iirc is one of the basic Linux commands - Comes with bash (IIRC).

Therefore dd is in all distro's.

You're close, try:
mount -t iso9660 /home/willie_m/filename.iso /mnt/CDimage1

Xandros is Debian based, and there is a local mirror:
debian.co.nz

I found this program the other day, haven't tried it myself yet but it looks like a good MS Publisher replacement - Passepartout: Desktop Publishing for X11 (www.stacken.kth.se), and it has some nice screenshots (www.stacken.kth.se). Only source is available from the developers site, but you can get precompiled debain packages (.deb) which is what Xandros uses.

passepartout (0.4-1) (packages.debian.org) - from the Debian packages site. Although this is an older version of the program.

Download site for the latest (0.5) version (debian.ihug.com.au).

As Chill mentions, K3b is a fantastic CD burning program and very easy to use. I don't know of MS business planner, but there is bound to be a Linux app which is similar.

I see that machine only has 120 MB of RAM. Is it possible to add any extra? If your cousin is going to be using graphic software on top of KDE, the performance will be greatly enhanced if you can top up the RAM a bit more (add a 256 MB stick).
