2004-08-06 01:22:00 | Just thought I'd start a new thread... this one is purely for timedemo, etc. Also, if you read this (www.forumplanet.com) article, it suggests a tweak to increase performance in Doom 3. I'll be testing tonight with default and then with the config tweak... will be interesting to see how it handles! :) Lo.

2004-08-06 01:56:00 | Alrighty. Specs. Asus laptop 2800-m 9600pro Mobile chipset 512mb ram Results. Time demo runs like treacle and then system locks up. Not a happy camper,i wonder if Asus are going to release new video drivers.

2004-08-06 03:51:00 | I HAVE BEEN DOOMIFIED!!! whoa....i say whoa!!! **** my pants. what a game, was right on the edge of my seat, just surviving in the dark as hell's demons spewed forth, only to have one cave my head in with a pipe wrench. The desktop i was using,AMD 2800,768m,nforce2,9600 XTG (one of the models with the higher clockspeed) ran it smooth as silk with the right settings,But does not do the game justice, not in any way.It asks for so much more to blaze as it should. Looks like im going to have to build myself a doominator,I wonder if it can be submitted to the magazine for a review?....hint hint.

2004-08-06 04:04:00 | nah Met . . . you were just playing it @ 640 x 480 with no gamma :P that'd look scary on any pc/laptop . although I've read on another site that the game seems tied to both GPU and CPU with different angles on both - when you look at the numbers anyway . Is this truely the first game to get people to ugrade hardware just to play a game? PC World . nz owes it to the readership to really "test" the game with whats around here in NZ - not some P4 EE with an ( well I was thinking a X800 ) but well it works "best" with the latest Nvidia . . . . ME? I'd start with an FX53 . . . . I'd like to see the "Doominator" go up against some kind of "creation" PC World . nz can do - no cheating STS :D :)

2004-08-06 04:19:00 | Just letting you guys know, if it gets too dark for you, bring the console down and type "r_gamma 1.2" Generally 1.2 - 1.4 will be good, but any higher will ruin the effect of the game... Lo.

2004-08-06 04:20:00 | I would gouge my eyes out with a rusty spoon before i played any game at less then 1024x768. Ok,thats a bit extreme,i would use a blunt stick.
