| 258559 | 2004-08-05 20:35:00 | Hi guys My wife's got this Toshiba Satellite laptop, 1.8GHz Celeron, 256 RAM, XP Pro. On startup, it used to start up and get to the Desktop witout one having to click on anything. I think one of my children fiddled around on this thing, because these days you get a screen where you have to click on a user button, after which it loads the preferred settings. There is only the one user- my wife. She want the system back as it was. I checked around in the help file, but with no knowledge of XP I'm a bit bamboozled. Can anyone help please? Sarel |

| 258561 | 2004-08-05 22:33:00 | thanks that worked. Just in case my wife asks: is there a way of disabling the password screen that is appearing now (no password, just the wife's user name) Sarel |

| 258563 | 2004-08-05 23:20:00 | Thx Rob99 - I don't know XP at all - my PC uses WinME so I'm kind of dumb as a doornail with XP. I did search for the document you linked but could not find anything. Sarel |

To log on to the computer, type your user name (and password, if you have one) in the standard Log On to Windows dialog box." Yeah I disabled the Welcome screen but the standard log on to windows dialog box - there's nothing in the user accounts tick boxes to show how to disable that Sarel |
