| 259134 | 2004-08-07 07:33:00 | Hi there, I seem to be having serious problem with DirectX 9 (i think) at the moment, everytime i try to play any game my computer either freezes (the screen goes black and ntothing happens) or it simply restarts itself. My graphics card is a Geforce FX5700 128MB Card My processor is AMD Athlon XP 2200+ I have an Asus A7V600 Motherboard with 512MB of kingmax DDR400 RAM. I have reformatted and reinstalled windows multiple times and have reinstalled DirectX 9 from the same disk everytime (the Nvidia disk that the graphics card came with) and it still doesnt seem to work. |

If it is Win XP you can disable the restarting so that Windows gives you an error message that may help diagnose your problem . Press the Windows+Pause keys>Advanced tab>Startup & Recovery settings>remove the tick from Automatically restart . Post any error message here if you need more help . |

| 259137 | 2004-08-07 11:21:00 | for the latest release of dx 9.c here (download.microsoft.com) You can also get the latest video drivers from the nvidia site,chipset drivers from the mobo manufacturer and i would sugest running memtest86. |
