| 259452 | 2004-08-09 01:05:00 | Im not too sure how much it costs but for the price of DVD Region-Free, you can use it with DVD Shrink, PowerDVD... Any DVD Player / application you may want/need. Beats being limited to one application IMO - But DVD X Player still looks like a good buy. I had the opportunity to Beta Test the software, but that was right after I'd had a friend pay for DVD Region-Free for me :D |

| 259456 | 2004-08-09 01:19:00 | Check out www.videohelp.com which gives hacks on disabling region and sometimes macrovision (depending upon make/model). Usually a particular sequence on your remote. I made my Mustek DVD Player both region and macrovision free using a hack. |

Yup, I believe thats all the retailers do when they offer to de-regionalise for a fee. Supposedly some need a 'special' remote although Ive never heard of it not working using a standard remote. |
