2004-08-08 06:45:00 | I have sold a few of these modems, they are easy to setup,it should have been sold to you with all the settings done for NZ,you only need to add your user name and password.I will say the resetting after adding your details need to be done word for word from the instructions sheet 3 steps then the modem reboots,is the rh light steady on the front,if you have changed any of the settings or reset the modem I have the box settings here. I am off to work now I will check back about 4.00am to see how you went. John.

2004-08-09 07:01:00 | Well I've tried everything in the manual and can't get it to work. And the "good news"..... the CD that came with the modem appears to be damaged... install stops after 15%... dammit!!! chiefnz

2004-08-09 07:33:00 | hi again, have you by any chance reset the modem by the reset in the rear,is the RH light on the front steady, can you report back with the settings you have the modem set to on the same page as your user name and password is entered,(like the VPI,VCI settings) also you won't need the disc to work if you are using the ethernet port, its only for USB setup. I am home to night, available to help from now tonight. John.

2004-08-09 11:04:00 | After all that - is your line faulty? Could be a faulty entry point (we had one of those - killed our speed then killed whole service - no warning). Other than that, what exact error, if any, are you getting? What happens when you click connect?

2004-08-09 14:23:00 | There is nothing wrong with the line as I can connect fine using another modem... the Nokia M1122. I followed the instructions in the manual. Entered my logon details... saved the configuration. rebooted the modem. When I click on connect.... the progress bar at the bottom of the IE window flashes for about 30 - 45 seconds then after that there's a message which says connection error? I'm stumped really. cheers chiefnz

2004-08-09 14:45:00 | Is the VCI in your router set to 100? I know so router (like mine) is set to 88 as default. | Blue_face (1148) | |
2004-08-09 20:46:00 | I have one of these modem/routers They work out of the box, with some minor adjustments. First I would push the reset button at the back, so you have defaults. Go into the modem as admin, in the WAN config, change the VCI setting from 38 to 100, and then just input your user name and password further down, then (now this is important) submit at the bottom of the page, save settings and reboot and it should work ok. The default setting for your PC lan is use automatic IP address as the router has a DHCP server built in, if you want to use a static IP address, use an address outside it's pool of addresses as in 10.0.0.18 and put that in your PC you will also need to put 10.0.0.2 in the default gateway and DNS server.

2004-08-09 20:55:00 | Forgot to mention the router should automatically detect the correct ENCAPSULATION, which should be PPPoA VC-mux, there is no need to touch any other settings.
