259926 2004-08-09 09:58:00 Hey guys,

whenever I right click on a file in my brand new install of win2k, it always come up with that dialogue box "You are not connected" with the "connect"or "work offline" buttons.

I always click work offline.

Consequently... do I need to let services and controller app access the internet. Also there is a C:\winnt\system.exe file that keeps wanting to go on the net. And svchost.exe which I should remeber the function of wants access too.

What are these files and why do they want to connect to the internet. I'm starting to go all hamstar on you guys in saying I think MS is trying to spy on me.

259927 2004-08-09 10:03:00 C:\winnt\system.exe is a trojan.

Just how long did it take to get this "new install" infected?

Must be some sort of record ...

Do infected install disks count?

(Burned from infected images - which are perfectly .. um.. legal.)

:D ;)
Ah Growly, what efficiency - no delay - get the virii right from before the first re-boot. No anxiously waiting to see if your A/V program was a waste of money.
Only problem - how can you load the A/V before the OS ?
