259877 2004-08-09 05:15:00 Hi Godfather,
have no other way of contacting you - so hence the rather cockeyed heading.
Re the re installing of Office and Pretty good solitaire last week- I cleanewd out absolutely everything connected with P G S and as you know the download did the same- tried to re install when I hit the PGS icon-- well blow me down the same error happened when I ran Spyware blaster as routine( and it tried to in stall Office- the same way as with PGS.
I therefore deleted Office - icluding a massive sp 1,update for it and re installed office from scratch - plus 88 minutes of Office sp1 -- and it appears to be working correctly
I have not yet downloaded PGS again but I think I am on the right track - what could have intertwined the Office and at least two other programs I don't know-
anyway thank you for your, as usual excellent help

When you apply service packs for Office, do NOT apply them on-line.

Use Google and find the link to the download, most are easily found.
Download the patch and SAVE it to the HDD.

Then when you need to reapply it, you do not need to download it again. Thats the painful way to do it, as you are doing it now.

Apply this logic to all such downloads. You can save them to a CD for posterity.
