259792 2004-08-14 10:38:00 There could be many reasons why Microsoft want everyone to upgrade to SP2. I can think of all sorts of devious reasons which might factor into the equation. kiki (762)

add a few years, remember the punch tape readers 3/4 the size of the average refrigerator, and the need of ear muffs. (dont you dare drop that tape reel (14" diameter))

259794 2004-08-19 03:21:00 I bought a laptop with a rabbit version of XP already on, it updated itself alright even thought the guy I bought it from saying dont try an update. Will rabbit versions be able to incorporate the service pack?

259799 2004-08-26 23:38:00 <sigh>

This forum does not handle URL's that word wrap in the input window.

Thats what "formatting options" are for.

This is the link to the MS Website (www.microsoft.com)

Its only a matter of removing the "%20" (HTML space) that gets inserted into the URL though, not a biggie.

259800 2004-08-28 05:03:00 Suggest have a look at following before installing SP2. Certainly intend using the CD in about a months time after perusing any forums on programmes of interest. It is causing hiccups with some genealogy programmes. With Windows XP fully updated SP2 wanted 5 1/2 hours download with a 56k modem

259801 2004-08-28 09:08:00 Now let me see...........If I have a perfectly functioning PC with a top of the line Antivirus, Firewall and a great wireless network with it s own level of security..........should I use SP2 at all and risk this state of nirvana?! draftycloud (2278)
