| 260774 | 2004-08-12 02:39:00 | ive just removed my SB Audigy soundcard from my pc, i sold it to a mate. but until i get my firewire soundcard, im back to using the onboard utilities. i cannot however seem to get the onboard sound going? the motherboard is an ASUS A7N266-VM with onboard dolby digital sound. the guy who built my pc disabled the onboard sound when he installed the Audigy card. ive been into the bios but cannot find where to 'enable' onboard sound ???? its got me stumped, ive even downloaded the newest drivers and instaled, but this has not helped either. realplayer gives me the 'there is no sound mixer currently installed to play the file' message...grrrrrrrrrrrrrr! please help team | doowop (6016) | ||

There's probably a page called "Peripherals" or something like that, but if not, just look at each page in turn. Carefully. If there is nothing at all, you might have to open the box. :-( Open the box which contains the manuals and disks which you carefully saved when you got the computer, and have a read of the motherboard manual. :O There might be a jumper on the board to be moved, but that's unlikely these days, because a jumper must add at least half a cent to the production cost. :D |
