260807 2004-08-12 05:16:00 Hey guys has anyone picked up any problems with DX9c?

I've read a few forums where some users have noted a slight drop in performance... between 5 and 10 fps less in Doom 3, I read somewhere?

Has anyone had similar experiences?

cheers

260808 2004-08-12 05:34:00 I've heard of some gains and some no-difference. I installed it myself today and can't notice any difference Greg S (201)

260810 2004-08-12 06:12:00 Could be OS dependant, one of the forum members had problems with 9b on win 98, that was the assumption anyway.

260813 2004-08-12 11:30:00 Man, 5fps would suck considering I average only 4 when running some games at High-Res on my laptop... 9 if I run at 640x480 ;-) Chilling_Silence (9)
260814 2004-08-12 12:21:00 When I had DX9c it gave me a 10 point~ increase in 3dMark03, and a few extra frames in Far Cry. I wouldn't matter too much if it loses frames in Doom3, it's only one game and probably only a driver issue. I imagine Ati and Nvidia haven't quite got around to optimising for DX9c. kiki (762)
260815 2004-08-12 13:05:00 Go for it chill - if you can knock off 5 frames from the original 4fps, you can charge the batteries from the excess negative frames. Free ! ! ;)
