2014-02-20 23:34:00 | My laptop keeps losing time, today for example it said it was 11:30am on the 20th. Time zone is set correctly. This doesn't happen on Ubuntu (same laptop), so I'm assuming it can't be something like a dying battery. It doesn't seem to slowly drop time, I'll turn it on and the time has jumped out by quite a margin. Any ideas?

2014-02-21 02:27:00 | How old is the laptop? It could still be the battery. | Bryan (147) | |
2014-02-21 05:21:00 | Nick, when you installed Ubuntu it will have set the hardware clock to Universal Time by default. askubuntu.com That link explains what I mean and will give a couple of methods to correct this.

Hmm, have never noticed this before. Still, will give it a go and see. |

2014-02-26 05:04:00 | Last time I had this problem it was due to multiple OS installed and set to different timezones as KarameaDave suggested. Maybe it *is* an old BIOS\clock battery, and one of your OS is doing time sync properly while the other isn't.

2014-02-27 05:50:00 | Same issue, booted it into Windows 7 today just before - was off by a good 13 hours. Did you try either of the fixes in the article I linked? Nothing else will resolve this issue, short of reinstalling Ubuntu and setting the Hardware clock to local time during the install.
