1368025 2014-02-19 01:51:00 Hi all, we are in the market for 2 new projectors. Looking for a short throw, not ultra short, 1 metre throw or thereabouts. wireless, DVI\HDMI or VGA inputs, some tablet app connectivity would be nice and the ability to mount 1 of them from the ceiling too...

Suggestions anyone?

1368026 2014-02-19 06:23:00 If you have an account with Dove, they have many ( to many :p) to select from www.dove.co.nz The Short Throws are scattered in with the others listed. ( have to read the descriptions) and they have ceiling mounts as well. wainuitech (129)

1368028 2014-02-19 22:12:00 What res do you need? What is your budget per projector? Alex B (15479)
1368029 2014-02-19 23:59:00 Hey Alex, a projector capable of 1080 would be ideal, up to $2500 max....light, portable size, and have some connectivity apps for ipads etc.... SolMiester (139)
1368030 2014-02-20 00:51:00 You might struggle to get all that in short throw. We have just tried probably 8-10 projectors out, and it's amazing how many bad ones are out there. Bad yellows, low light, poor focus, very loud fan, you name it.... In the end we have settled with Canon WUX450's but they are twice the money you're talking unfortunately. A close second was the BenQ SH910. NZ RRP is 4k but you can get them from B&H in the US landed for under $2500.

Would suggest you get a trial of what ever you're looking at before you buy if you can.

Ah yes you see, which is exactly why Im asking here.....I would actually like an InFocus unit....www.infocus.com but they dont have retailer here?!

We have a BenQ already which cost 3k about 5 yrs ago, but its res is only 10x7
Viewsonic has a great unit, BUT its ultra short so a perpendicular screen has to be exactly flat otherwise focus is lost in parts where it bellows etc....

1368032 2014-02-20 01:27:00 Both seem to be 1280x800 also. If you can live with that then I think your options are likely to be much greater. We use ours for Cisco Video Co so wanted to take advantage of HD. Alex B (15479)
1368033 2014-02-20 01:36:00 Yeah, got a bit confused with the input and output...1280x800 is fine, as they do accept a 1080 input, which I think should downscale no?...720p is the lowest I can go! SolMiester (139)
