1367728 2014-02-16 08:06:00 I'm having random computer freezes on hot days and suspect it might be my fanless video card.

I don't game or do any intensive video work I only have it so I can run dual monitors.

What would be a good recommended replacement?

1367729 2014-02-16 08:41:00 Just get a spare 12volt fan (from broken PSU or where-ever) and connect to 5volts (to reduce noise) there is always spare holes to mount them with a simple bracket and set it point so that it blows air across the hot parts of the video card, I have done this a number of times, works well.

There's always spare power leads for extra DVD/CD/HDD which you can use to get Gnd and 5volts.

1367730 2014-02-16 09:02:00 If you want to try and prove it try taking the side off and directing a desk fan or similar towards the card. If it stops freezing then it's something overheating as you suspect.

As for a good replacement, for your requirements pretty much anything will do. Do you have onboard at all and can it run dual screens or was that the issue?
What interfaces are available on your monitors?

Almost any new card WITH A ONBOARD FAN :)
Ive seen some fanless vid cards get so hot they actually damaged nearby components on the motherboard
I wouldnt muck about with some Jerry rigged fan blowing air on that card, new vid cards arnt that expensive

easy check, its so hot you cant hold your finger on the heatsink, its too hot.

1367733 2014-02-17 22:48:00 Many cards for computers are designed as if they are always going to be mounted vertically but due to motherboard positioning and case design they are often horizontal and are not cooled by convection properly.

This is why they overheat and why a no-cost solution as I have suggested will work just fine.
