1367348 2014-02-10 20:05:00 Tried to log in to Xtra/Yahoo mail this morning using a web browser at work, and I get a picture of a crying baby with a message:
"Sorry, we are over capacity. Please wait a moment and try again".
Xtra really do need a replacement mail service for Yahoo.

1367350 2014-02-10 22:53:00 Strewth - Is there no end to this Telecom Xtra Yahoo nonsense !
Phone started ringing early am from a bunch of folk I help out in my supposed retirement and they cant get onto their xtra email.
Switched my own account on...zip...nothing
Found a special new Telecom email help page, wow ..someones put some serious effort into whats going on the last few weeks and then they put an Auckland helpdesk phone number at the bottom (for those who need to call from overseas). Had to try it of course and guess what it connects to the Phillipines 'activate your sim' line. Oh well...the circus is still in town.
Later morning managed to get access...but the change & forgotten password Telecom have is not working.
Message is always -
A problem has been detected.
Sorry, the Change Password service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.

1367351 2014-02-10 23:23:00 I'm glad I'm not with them ! For the people who are, go to another ISP ! I would have changed to another ISP by now, if I was with Xtra. With all their email probs Speedy Gonzales (78)
1367352 2014-02-11 00:08:00 I had a message left on my telephone a few days ago by a lady with an Asian accent. She said that Xtra are making changes to settings and that as I am still using the old settings I needed to visit the Telecom website to change to the new settings. The old settings stop on 4 Mar 14. That's likely to be genuine, as it's been reported that users will have to reconfigure to use SSL for Xtra email in future, so presumably you are one of the minority who've been connecting without it up to now.

Had several customers call me to confirm if its legit or not. looking at what they want you to do , it is, changing to the SSl settings.

Funny thing is those settings cause 99% of the mail problems, and changing back to the older ones fix it. :D

1367355 2014-02-11 02:00:00 Had an email yesterday, supposedly from my brother in the UK and copied to a friend of his, from his Yahoo account and with a link to a website. He hadn't sent it, his account had been hacked.
I used a live CD to and went to the website, it redirected to another which was promoting anti-ageing creams etc :)

Yahoo are having problems world wide it seems according to Google.

1367356 2014-02-11 02:57:00 [QUOTE=Speedy Gonzales;1189273 go to another ISP ! [/QUOTE]

I'm quite happy with my Xtra account.
However, I am not using their email.....or Yahoos I should say.

Wasn't that silly, in fact why do people use any ISP email nowdays, it's just a pain when you move ISPs anyway, never mind issues with Yahoo....

Even my dad is using domain email now....or for those that don't want to bother with that...Gmail.
